Zosia gave herself a small glance in the mirror of her room that resided in her sibling’s apartment. She was thankful that her older sib allowed her to stay with them during her school year. It was a shame this was pretty much her last year, but Zo told herself to not dwell on that right now. The nightclub was having a fun party, something to welcome in the warm weather. There wasn’t a theme per se, but it was chatted that pastel colors and all that were welcomed. So, it was very lipstick lesbian to Zo, something she hadn’t worn in a minute. She had been living in jeans and sweaters for the last few weeks.
After putting on a light pink gloss and running her fingers through her hair, Zo gave a cute little kick of her leg and grabbed her small purse and a light jacket. It was still a bit chilly, but the warm air was coming through. She and her sibling made their way to the club, where the music was blasting and the drinks already flowing. Zo didn’t know how long she would last tonight, but it was all about the fun. She could sleep in tomorrow for sure.
Zo found herself following her siblings and their friend group to the bar. There was some fun, glittery-looking themed drinks. A girl, close to her age was holding what looked like a pastel purple cocktail. It had a flower on top, in a martini glass it looked like. Giving a glance at the specials, Zo guessed it was the Blue Moon. “Woah,” Zo grinned. “Looks like they went all out. How does that taste?”
It had been a Friday evening and all what Roisin Malloy knew was that she didn't want to go home to the farm, she still wanted to stay out in the city. So she had concocted some fib about how she needed to stay late to help out Tally with a project at the library, and that they shouldn't expect her home until after hours. Of course, Roisin wasn't at the library with Tally, she was at R&R Nightclub in downtown Hickstead, sitting at the bar with a FLUTTER-BY cocktail. It's lavender hue mixed with rocks and sparkles sang to her, the cold steam wafting out of the glass from the temperature of the club. The young woman knew she should watch her pace, it was the sort of drink she could knock back seven times before realizing that she wouldn't know how to get home or cover her tracks.
She played with the straw, allowing the flower to dance in the drink before her blue eyes looked out on the dance floor and to the faces in the crowds. Unfortunately for her, her best friend Tally Caufield actually did have a project that she needed to work on, which kept her at the University on a friday night, leaving Roisin up to her own devices. Sometimes that could be dangerous. A bored Roisin Malloy could often spell disaster or fun, depending on how someone looked at it. The young woman liked to think though that she didn't have a horrid reputation - it's not as if she were mean, nor was she sloppy. She was just...fleeting. Nobody ever seemed to keep up with her, other than Tally, of course, but Tally was her best friend and, well, straight.
A heavy and dramatic sigh escaped Roisin now, as she glanced back at her drink. Why was it so hard to meet girls? They literally littered half of the population of Hickstead, if not more so than men, and yet, nothing, it was a barren wasteland to Roisin. Was it her? Was she picky? Was it the fact that lead a double life? Surely not. There was no way that Roisin Malloy was at fault for being single, it was the other people. She placed pink lips on her straw now, taking a sip of her drink when a voice cut through: "Looks like they went all out. How does that taste?” Blue eyes looked to the owner of the voice now, a girl, maybe her age. Funny, Roisin had never seen her before, because she would remember a face like that, "It's sinfully delicious," Roisin said with a smile, "I'm Roisin by the way, if you want to stay around and order one. It's the Flutter-By. I could use the company."

Zosia smiled when the girl answered with her name and the drink. Roisin had long, dark blonde hair that cascaded in waves. It's a bit dangerous way to dance at the club. Or maybe it was Zosia’s fear. She always liked to have her hair slicked back, since the last time she had it down – a creep yanked on it. A frilly lace white jumpsuit and boots, Roisin was giving more cottage core chic than the city floral Zosia was giving.
“Pleasure to meet you Roisin,” Zo smiled. “I’m Zosia but you can call me Zo. Lucky for you, I just got here,” she added. Zo managed to get a bartender quickly, as most people had drinks in hand. The bartender was one that Zo had seen before, Harper. She was dangerously sweet to all patrons – but could be sharp as a blade if needed.
“Hi Harper,” Zo cooed. “I’ll have a Flutter-By and two shots of Tequila with lime.” Harper gave her signature; you got it to look and two thumbs up before she began preparing. Zo returned her eyes to Roisin. “Are you waiting for anyone tonight?” she inquired since girls often ran in groups in places like this.
